Founder's Background

Armand Morin, UC Berkeley MFE (Haas, Mar 2024) and CentraleSupélec engineering graduate (Sept 2022).

Selected recent roles:

• Tower Research Capital — Quantitative Trader/Researcher: Built predictive model pipelines, systematic algorithms, and stationary deep‑learning signals.

• OpenBlock Labs — Blockchain Data Scientist: Designed incentive models (Linea, Sui), implemented point systems, wash‑trading detection, and allocation monitoring.

• BNP Paribas CIB (Global Markets, Data & AI Lab) — Quant Researcher: Calibrated neural nets for Sharpe optimization, optimized gamma trading algorithms, and developed AI models for trend/mean‑reversion.

Team

Orphic Finance is built by a group of engineering‑school peers with complementary skills in quantitative research, distributed systems, and DeFi execution. The team’s focus is industrializing the investment engine—data, models, execution, and risk. This blend of institutional research and DeFi microstructure experience directly supports our non‑directional liquidity strategies and the infrastructure required to operate them reliably.

Franklin Templeton University Blockchain Competition 2023

In June 2023, our approach to liquidity management was awarded first place in the Franklin Templeton Blockchain Competition. This victory, sponsored by a global asset manager with over $1.5 trillion in AUM, provided early validation of our quantitative models and seed capital for our initial development.

Berkeley SkyDeck Pad-13

In October 2023, Orphic Finance was accepted into the prestigious Pad-13 accelerator program at Berkeley SkyDeck. As one of the world's leading startup accelerators, SkyDeck provides us with access to a network of experts, mentors, and resources that are instrumental in scaling our operations and refining our strategies to an institutional standard.
